Introduction

This course is designed to educate and expose the participants on the current energy eco-system, their drivers & disrupters, and energy transition, balancing the energy trilemma needs of security & access, economic development & growth and environmental sustainability. The module includes hands on approach using real world datasets and case studies discussions on energy industry challenges & opportunities, which can be directly applied by the participants in their respective management’s decision makings and organization’s strategy development.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able:
  1. Describe current energy eco-system, the drivers, disrupters and implications to the value chain
  2. Articulate the energy transition, balancing the energy  trilemma needs for effective management and organization’s strategies
  3. Identify new opportunities and develop effective solutions, for a sustainable energy transition

Trainer

Wan Sayuti Wan Hussin joined Corporate Strategy in Sep 2015. He has 16 years working experiences with PETRONAS. He built his foundation in plant operations, technical services and project management in Refinery, Kerteh and PCOGD (Optimal), before moving on to commercial roles in business planning & performance, sales & marketing and strategy development. He holds BSc in Chemical Engineering and BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. In 2015, he graduated with MBA from Said Business School, University of Oxford

This three-day course will cover the following aspects (case studies may be included in some topics):
  1. Energy Eco-system and its Value Chain
  2. Disrupters to the Energy Eco-system
  3. Key Energy Drivers (COP 21, UN Sustainable Development Goals, etc.)
  4. Energy Transition and Energy Trilemma
  5. Sustainability Agenda, Balancing Environment, Social and Governance Aspects
  6. Implications to Policies, Decision Makings and Organizations’ Strategies
