INTRODUCTIONSand management Level 1 course is specifically intended for young aspiring engineers working in oil and gas upstream operations either as operator or service providers. The course of 2 days includes introduction to the various field production issues related to sand production being most inherent producing reservoir rocks in oil and gas exploitation. There will be an overview of reservoir traps and mechanism followed by types of completions normally employed in current oil and gas production. Some general theory on sand production and its prediction are also explained including brief summaries of sand control methods being applied during well design and also remediation of sand production during production.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Tarek GanatAssociate Professor at Petroleum Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) More than 23 years’ experience in oil & gas field development planning, production forecasting, performance review, reservoir management and EOR studies and simulation Assoc Prof. Dr Tarek Ganat has working with several industries for about 23 years’ before expand his career as a lecturer in UTP. He has served GOWFE oil service company, Libyafor for 1 year, 12 Years with Repsol Exploration Company, Spain, 3 Years with Petro-Canda oil company, Canada, 7 Years with PETRONAS Carigali Malaysia and currently 3 Years with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. He has vast experience working in multinational and multicultural JV’s, professional skill and extensive experience for more than 3 years in training centers and Visiting Lecturer in University. Some of his training and consultancy services are Official trainer in NOC, LIBYA, courses in Production Technology, Pressure Transient, PVT Fluid Analysis, and Reserve Estimations, for NOC. Tripoli, Libya and Scale Analysis courses for ONYX company, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr Tarek specialists in oil & gas reservoir development planning, simulation, forecasting, monitoring, reserves estimation, and field problem mitigation issues. He conduct analysis and performance review of the major fields for arresting the production decline and improving the recovery, advised and reviewed the Reservoir Management Plans for many oil and gas fields in domestic and international basins, provided reservoir engineering advice to the new field acquisition and prospect evaluation group.
Dr Mysara Eissa Mohyaldinn ElhajSenior Lecturer at Petroleum Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Experts in oil transportation, production engineering, flow assurance, sand management Dr Mysara Eissa Mohyaldinn hold a PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering, a Master degree in oil transportation and a Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering. He has been teaching for more than 10 subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels besides conducting short courses to petroleum companies in the area of production optimization, oil and gas transportation, and surface production facilities. He has started several training and consultancy services since 2013. Dr Mysara primary research goals are directed towards flow assurance, sand management, and oil transportation. He has Beside his teaching and research experience, Dr Mysara has been working with multi-national oil companies in some petroleum projects. He also a professional member under Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Energy Institute (EI), Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM).
Mr Ghazaly BakarSenior Manager, Production Technologist, Uzma Artificial Lift, UZMA Engineering Sdn Bhd Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Professional Production Technologist with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and sixteen (16) years of working experience in production operations in the oil and gas industry in various fields in Malaysia as well as overseas (Myanmar, Brunei and Venezuela). Experienced in the upstream (E&P) oil & gas industry under various projects and responsibilities as Surveillance and Production Technologist. Acquired an in-depth technical knowledge and capability with experience in managing matured producing fields, well performance analysis and production enhancement and optimization initiatives with main expertise in artificial lift application such as gaslift, PCP and ESP.
Ms Wyddad KamarudinPetroleum Engineer at UZMA Engineering Sdn Bhd Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines Wyddad Kamarudin hold a bachelor of science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. Throughout all four years of studies, she has acquainted herself with a range of skills that would allow her to blend with the organization culture, and propel the team to a new height of success. With the working experience in the industry for seven (7) months, she willingly took this golden chance to share her stories and knowledge in production technology. Her involvement in various subsurface studies had polished her technical knowledge and developed the capability to analyze well performances and identified different applicable Production Enhancement initiatives.
Ms Nurul Hayati HarolanuarApplication and Production Engineer, Uzma Artificial Lift, UZMA Engineering Sdn Bhd Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Petroleum Engineering (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS) Application and Production Engineer with a degree in Petroleum Engineering with technical experience in production technology work scopes. She has heavily involved in subsurface studies to study and identify on the production enhancement initiative and activities. The main accountability including field and well performance review, production optimization and enhancement as well as well modelling with PROSPER. She has technical experience in fields data review and due diligence in identifying, analysing and supporting technical design for potential ESP application in sustaining the production for onshore and offshore field within and outside Malaysia.
